I use this right before I go to bed. I cleanse, moisturize, and let my face dry, so when I'm ready for bed, I buff the night treatment on my face.

Yes. I wait a few minutes until my moisturizer dries a little bit (I usually brush my teeth or something) and then use it right before I go to bed.

I use it after I put on everything else. You have to wait about ten to twenty minutes for your night cream or moisturizer to set in. If you do that, you will be fine. I admit I do not always wait. I just cannot use the included brush or I get streaky then. If I use my own brush, I can apply whenever.

Question

ingredients change - corn starch 2nd in list?

They said that the formula did not change, but the old formula 2nd ingredient was vit C, and the new formula is corn starch modified, which is a drying agent not for skin over 40. Why did it change?

Thanks

Unfortunately Patty, that is incorrect information. I also work for a spa that trains in and retails all Bare Escentuals products and we learned recently that there is a variation between the Clear and colored formulas of the Pure Transformation Night Treatment.

Corn starch modified is the second product listed on the Clear formulation of the Pure Transformation Night Treatment. The Clear product does have a different texture than the colored variations and feels different when applied on the skin.

The colored formulations have no corn starch and do have more Vitamin C - I hightly recommend getting a color over the Clear. If you want to know any more, definitely e-mail Leslie or the Bare Escentuals team. They're always happy to help.

Good luck!

Only the clear version of this product contains corn starch modified. My suggestion is that if you want to avoid the corn starch use the color versions.

Not true. I work at a BE boutique in CA, and just finished all of the special training for the release of this skincare. There is NO change in this product - only the way it is dispensed.

The ONLY ingredients (which I have a list of right next to me) are the RareMinerals Active Soil Complex (which is finely milled, vitamin & mineral loaded virgin soil), Vitamins A, C, and E, Emblica Fruit (antioxidant) and Ectoin Extract which helps the skin retain moisture. No cornstarch. Promise!

Question

How does this differ from the old Raremineral Night treatment?

I have used B.E.'s raremineral night treatment pretty much since Leslie introduced the product, and have wonderful results from it. I am just wondering how this new version is different from the original. Is it simply the delivery system, or are there ingredient changes as well? Any feedback would be most appreciated!

I used to use the Rareminerals Night Treatment, too. To my understanding this is virtually the same thing with an easier delivery system. I do think, however, that it works better than the older version.

It's the same product-just new packaging. It has a brush instead of the sponge applicator. Some people say that they like the sponge better (old applicator), but the sponge gets clogged with product after a while.

I would personally suggest you go to the store and see which color best matches your skin tone. As for using clear, I would personally avoid it since the second ingredient for that specific product is corn starch modified.

If you want to be safe, go with the clear-it works with any skin tone. Though some people say that the clear doesn't work as well, I've also read reviews on other websites that the clear works better.

Hi, Jayne Ann!

I have combination skin with dry skin on my cheek area. Usually I do my normal routine - cleanse, eye cream, moisturizer - and then apply the Pure Transformation Night Treatment. It seems to work perfectly! I would definitely keep with your personal skin care routine to ensure you get the max benefit!

Hey! You can totally use this with moisturizer underneath if you want. The Bare Escentuals makeup does help to gradually moisturize your skin the more/longer you use it. Instead of a moisturizer though, I've started using natural oils instead. It's balanced the pH of my skin much more effectively than moisturizer. With moisturizer I had to constantly use it otherwise my skin would be dry again. I've started using Burt's Bees oil under this makeup. It helps your makeup go on a LOT smoother. Just apply a small amount of the oil to clean skin, dab the extra amount off with a slightly damp towel and then brush on the makeup. Not only will your skin absorb the oil and gradually become less dry naturally, but your makeup will have even coverage and you'll have a little glow to your skin. With the little healthy glow, it looks like you're not even wearing makeup too. The combination of Bare Escentuals and the Burt's Bees oils has really made my skin look amazing. I get compliments ALL the time. Try it! I hope this helps! :)

It is meant to be a night treatment and stay on throughout the night. I would recommend washing it off in the morning. I have heard that many people also wear it throughout the day under their foundation or alone, but I would reapply after washing in the morning if you wanted to wear it during the daytime.

Sooooo many times I have tumbled exhausted into bed without removing my BM make-up - I use all of their products - eye color, blush and foundation. It has never harmed my 62 year old skin - and I have been using it for 15+ years! However, for optimal skin care, it is always better to cleanse at night and use a night cream to rehydrate your skin and help it repair itself.

Question

Is this website wrong when listing the ingredients for this product?

When I click the link for the Pure Transformation Night Treatment, I scroll down and this is what is listed for the ingredients: "Mica, Corn Starch Modified, Illite, Barium Sulfate, Ascorbic Acid, Zinc Stearate, Silica, Soil Minerals, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Phyllanthus Emblica Fruit Extract, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ectoin, Cyclopia Intermedia (Honey Bush) Extract, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Extract, Rosemarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Extract, Aspalathus Linearis (Roobios) Leaf Extract. However, Pattymouth answered 2 questions regarding the ingredients and said BOTH times that Corn Starch Modified is NOT an ingredient. Is the website incorrect about this product or is Pattymouth?

If you click on the different shades of color you will notice that the page refreshes and everything changes from the comments to the ingredient list. Only the clear version of this product contains corn starch modified while the color ones don't. So if you want to avoid corn starch I would suggest using one of the color version that best matches your skin tone.

Question

The difference between Clear and the Light & Medium Night Treatments on my face

I am a faithful user of the Night Treatment for 2 years using both the light and medium shades. I never go to bed without applying it. I recently switched to clear and after using for 2 months I noticed something different in my skin. It didn't feel as smooth and the Treatment was not absorbing into my face. I then switched back to the medium and within 2 nights my face felt silky again. This got me investigating why the difference. I see now that the ingredients in the Clear are different than the others. After reading the other questions and answers on the Clear Night Treatment, I'm still uncertain. Does anyone know where I can get a definitive answer? I'm regretting that I stocked up on the Clear at the closeout sale. Thanks for any information.

If you look at the ingredients carefully for the different colors of this product you would realize that the ingredients are a bit different for each one. This is probably due to the color but in clear the second item on the list is corn starch modified. Only clear version of this product contains this particular ingredient. That may be the reason why for the difference you see.
