Well, it looks like a loose powder. It is actually loose minerals! Powders are heavy and "cake" up on your skin & the loose minerals do not! This mineral veil is so soft it feels like a slight wafe of warm air against your face as you apply it and then you do not feel it at all once you stop buffing it on. TIP: Just remember that less is more. This veil is designed to keep your face from looking oily or glossy.

This is a loose powder. If you're not into the loose powder, the new bare minerals READY mineral veil is an excellent choice. It's in solid form, comes in Translucent or Tinted and does a nice job at locking in my overall look before I start my day. I have a Golden Dark skin tone and I use Tinted because of my skin tone. Less is more and you don't want to use too much.

I like to use my Flawless Application Face Brush to apply mineral veil or to apply my Warmth (one of the All Over Face Colors).

It is loose mineral, and as for the statement above about not getting it in the click lock go, you don't have an option. All the containers are now click lock go excluding shadows. If you need to get the tiny bit of product left, flip the container, and run a penny along the edge of the plastic base and it will pop open.

Yes it is a lose powder. I would not suggest getting it in the new click lock go case..

I must say that shopping smart is a good idea! Have you ever heard "You get what you pay for!"? Guess what? Those days are gone! Now days everyone wants the best products for the lowest price. With Bare Escentuals, you do get the best product. The trick to the products is that less is more. So when you buy this mineral veil it is going to last for upto 4 months. So really you are spending about $5 a month for a flawless complection. With brands like CoverGirl, Loreal, & Revlon you get caked on face powder for about $10 a month. There really is no comparison! Get this veil and see why thousand of girls love it!

The container is fairly small, but the loose powder goes a long way and lasts a long time compared to compact powders. The container is the size of most compact powders you see.

Have you checked out the tutorial videos? You can see Leslie using the foundation to apply on her models. Or you can view YouTube videos related to Bare Minerals makeup applications. You will be amazed at what all you can find on YouTube! If you see someone using it, you will be able to see about the size of what a contain would be.

XL is a big deluxe size and the most expensive as well.
Regular is just the normal size.
Small is a couple sizes smaller than the Regular container.
Mini is the same size as the sample foundation. If you see the reviews on Sample Foundation, you may be able to see my review where I'm holding the tiny brush and tiny foundation sample in my hand so that you can see for yourself the size of the sample. Pictures tend to be bigger than what they appear. Which isn't a bad thing, but I wanted others to see what to look forward to and to get a real life opinion who uses this line of products.

If all else fails, you can always go to your local beauty store that carries bare Minerals products and you can see it for yourself the size of it OR, the best option ever in my opinion, contact a BE rep via email from the BE website. They have been so helpful every time I have contacted them.

This is difficult to answer because there are different container sizes for different products.
And, it may depend on where you are purchasing the product because some retailers (e.g. QVC)
offers a variety of sizesl usually at customer request or demand for popular products.
For example eye shadows can be found in ,01 and .02 ounces. And, foundation also comes in a variety of sizes for example..... .21 ounces and .28 ounces.
I'm sure if you are specific to a product or a kit here, customer service could supply the information.
I checked QVC and Sephora's sites and they do supply the information most times.
I hope you find this helpful!!

1. I'm not sure about the mineral veil jar tops. I've been using Bare Escentual products for about five years now. It has always been the black top. Did you purchase the mineral veil elsewhere? If you have purchased a mineral veil elsewhere, it COULD be part of a limited edition item. I'm not certain about this though. I purchased a Flawless Application Brush elsewhere and it was a greenish teal aqua-ish color, but the description did state that it would be that color but that it was a limited edition brush. So I'm not sure if that has something to do with why you received a green topped mineral veil container.

To ensure you always get the right thing and know that it's authentic, visit your local Ulta, Dillards, Sephora, Nordstrom, Bare Escentuals Outlet Stores or the BE website to order from the source.

1. The aqua top means it probably came with a kit originally. BE likes to make lids & makeup brush handles different colors for some kits, but the products & brushes are authentic & exactly the same. The lid colors/makeup handle colors don't change the products at all. Also, If you bought your product from BE directly or through one of their authorized distributors such as QVC, Sephora, etc you have no need to worry about authenticity.

2. I have the whitest of white skin & can guarantee you the Tinted Mineral Veil works for anyone. The Original Mineral Veil goes on sheer, whereas the Tinted adds a super soft layer of healthy color. If you're very fair like me you just need one light coat of the Tinted Mineral Veil to add a healthy glow. It doesn't add color like Warmth or any of the products like that, just a wash of subtle "I got a great night's sleep" glow.

1) There was a kit from QVC that contained the SPF version of mineral Veil with an Aqua (almost translucent) lid. Don't worry, that is an original product.

2) I wear faily light and i occasionally use the tinted mineral veil. It's not a coverage issue per se, it is more of a tonal additional of color. It's very subtle. So yes, it can be for any shade of dkin.

Question

Does the SPF25 Mineral Veil appear whiter on the skin than traditional mineral veil?

Just curious because titanium dioxide does leave a white finish when it's in sunscreen so I wanted to make sure it wouldn't whiten my complexion when I use it. Does it look the same on as traditional untinted mineral veil? Thanks very much!

The original loose powder mineral veil (in medium) looks very white. I received this in the Get Started Kit that I had years ago. Not only was I brand new to the bare minerals, but the clerk suggested a color that was completely wrong for me. I thought I was a Medium Deep and turns out I was Golden Dark, thanks to a wonderful customer service rep whom I spoke to via email. I sent her my picture with no makeup on and she was able to tell me right away and she was dead on.

The loose powder veil that was in the Get Started Kit confused me because I'm Golden Dark and the mineral veil looked as if it belonged to someone with lighter skin (fair, medium, etc.). It did give me a luminous "spark" to my face that looked costume or almost like the way Edward Cullen from Twilight looks; the slightly paleness. I wasn't a fan.

But the READY veil I have to say is better. There is light veil and tinted veil. Light veil is for those with lighter complexions and the tinted is for dark to deep complexions so it's easy to determine which READY veil you need in your BE arsenal.

I have not noticed it. I have the spf 25, regular and pearl mineral veil. The pearl has a rosey hue. But, the other two, I have not noticed a difference. Two weekends ago, I used this on my son face - he is rather dark. You could not tell he had it on when blended in.

Question

Is it possible to get the SPF 25 mineral veil in the Club renewal?

I always prefer any skincare with SPF. Who wouldn't? However, on the beauty club renewal page there is as of yet an option for selecting SPF mineral veil. Does any one know if there is a way to get this option?

Ask a BE rep for suggestions and help if you can since you're in there program. May I suggest the SPF 15 READY Mineral Veil by Bare Minerals? It's in solid form and comes in Translucent and Tinted. Good luck to you!

I'm not very good at such intellectual questions such as this but I searched titanium dioxide and this was the result I came up with:

Titanium dioxide, also known as titanium oxide or titania, is the naturally occurring oxide of titanium, chemical formula TiO2. When used as a pigment, it is called titanium white, Pigment White 6, or CI 77891.

Contact a customer service rep if you need more detailed information if this doesn't help.
