Questions & Answers for bareMinerals Brushless Mascara

Question

How does it work?

My little sister is beginning to use make up and she is CONSTANTLY stealing my mascara. I wanted to find her something that would be more age appropriate than Big Tease because she is just starting. I don't get how this mascara would work. I couldn't really tell from the picture. I guess I don't get the concept of a brushless mascara. Would this be a good choice?

This mascara is for the advanced makeup wearer. It is radically different than the traditional mascaras out there. It takes patience and skill to get this to work. Once you master it, the results are amazing. I would suggest a traditional mascara to start her out and then move on to the more advanced stuff.

You apply this mascara like one with bristles on it. You dip it into the container and then apply it from the root of the lash to the ends of your lash. I like this mascara because it's quick and easy. For a full face, it takes me 15 mins or less.

This is a great choice. I love the applicator because you don't feel like you have a huge brush in your hand trying to get it up next to your eyes. It is so easy to apply you will be wanting to steal it back from your little sister.

What I love about this mascara is the natural look it gives my lashes with one coat. It is very easy to use, once you get over the fact that it is brushless! I think it would be perfect for someone just starting to wear makeup, since she hasn't been "conditioned" to use a brushed mascara. The fact that it is very natural looking would make it very age appropriate. BTW- If you want to try it yourself, apply two or three coats for more impact like Big Tease!

I would highly recommend going with the Flawless Definition Mascara for your sister. :) In the picture, it appears to be completely brushless, but there are very short bristles that separate the lashes beautifully. No clumping, and it's not a volumizing mascara. If I were picking any mascara for someone looking for a more natural look, this would be the one. It defines each and every lash, and coats them with just enough to make the eye pop. She will love it. :)

The wand has small grooves on it, so when you put it against your lashline, it grabs the lashes. Very easy to apply, just wiggle up through lashes. I would think it's very age appropriate. Hope this helped.

Question

I have long eyelashes, is this right for me?

I have naturally long eyelashes so I usually have to curl this before mascara so they reach their "full potential." My eyelashes are black. Thanks a million :)

From my personal experience I'd say this is a great formula for separating and defining the lashes. If you want extra volume, like me, I use this for the first coat and then brush to place lashes. I then follow with 1-2 coats of the volumizing mascara to build without the clumps. Hope this helps. Lucky you with those long nice lashes :)

This mascara would be perfect for you because you can really get the full extension of your lashes and can better put the product on your lashes. Because it's brushless, you won't have to worry about bristles getting caught or anything or stuck in your eye if you're trying to get to the root of your lashes all the way out.

Wow! You lucky girl. I think you will love this product. As you are applying the mascara lift the lashes with the wand as you finish the stroke. You may find that you do not have to curl!

I usually use this brush a couple times per lash and I see a result. I don't usually want the whole dramatic effect because I have dark circles under my eyes. At 27 with a three year old that doesn't like to go to bed a decent time, I don't want any darkness on my face when I apply my makeup.

Try a 15X mirror. That is what I use to apply the Mascara. You can really see what you are doing.

I have sensitive eyes as well and this doesn't bother me. Give it a try in the BE boutique if you can or just return it if you have any problems withing 30 days for a refund. I love using BE products because I know there's no icky ingredients like other brands.
