Your brushes can really last forever. I recommend that you clean them at least once a week. Use a gentle shampoo and conditioner. Also, never ever ever let anyone else use them. Your skin is precious and so easily damaged, don't let anyone touch the tools that touch your face. =D

I would clean my brushes once a month. All depends on how often you use them :) The Brush Shampoo works pretty well for me. If you want to go down the most inexpensive route, use your favorite shampoo or conditioner that works well for your hair or one that you don't mind using for your makeup bristles and wash them in that.

I clean my brushes once a week and have had some of them for 5 years now. They are excellent brushes and really live up to frequent use.

Hi JaxRN - You should shampoo them at least every 3 weeks - more often if you have oily skin. The BE brush shampoo is formulated to clean and condition the bristles, so be sure to use it rather than a "people" shampoo.

It's hard to say how long the brushes will last for you - some people use them to apply or touch up their makeup many times a day, and others use makeup only on special occasions. The best gauge is the way they feel and how they 'act' - once they feel scratchy or rough, or if the hair is breaking off, it's time to replace them. (Shedding is normal for the first little while of use because the brushes are packed with extra bristles! )

Question

How does this brush compare to the heavenly face brush?

They almost look like the same brush to me. I have the heavenly face brush and I'm not a huge fan of the brush. I feel like the application is a bit cakey. The catalog suggested the full flawless face brush was a medium coverage and this brush was full. How is the coverage?

I have the heavenly face brush, too. I'd definitely choose handy buki over heavenly face. I agree the heavenly face can give caky coverage. The handy buki is just so much easier to use- it's seriously worth switching to handy buki especially if you want full coverage without looking caky!

The Full Flawless Brush is okay. It's good for quick application and all, but a bit on the bulky side for me. Especially after I washed it with the Brush Shampoo. The Brush Shampoo is WONDERFUL, but I think I may have let it dry the wrong way because it's way softer now, but the brush is now poofy..yuk. Now I don't mind tossing the brush around in my swim bag or going away for a weekend.

The Flawless Face Brush I like to use for medium coverage OR for the Warmth All Over Face Color that I have. I usually use it for Warmth All Over Face Color.

The Handy Buki Brush is my all time FAVORITE brush despite it's smaller brush size. This brush has bristles made of Goat Hair so it's soft, but a bit more stiff. The Heavenly Face Brush is made of goat hair, but the Heavenly Blush Brush is made way softer. Like synthetic. I want to say Taklon or Ox maybe. The details of the product doesn't say, but I love how I can use it for blush and it doesn't take much before I can get the pop of color I need on my cheeks.

I can swirl tap and buff perfectly with this brush. I can really focus on areas that really need the buffing while controlling how much I put on my face. It fits well into the jar top so there's plenty of room to swirl for sure. Try it! Can't order it? Go to a store that sells BE products and ask for the Handy Buki Brush if they have it in stock.

The bristles in this brush are more compact than the Heavenly Face Brush and have a sligtly coarser texture. For me, this is an excellent brush for a full coverage foundation look. I use the Heavenly Face Brush for applying blush or all over face color.
