Questions & Answers for bareMinerals Liner Shadow - Coffee Bean
Question
How can I stop my lower-lid liner shasow from smearing during the day?
I just started using BE liner shadow. I use it as a liquid and apply a thin line to both lower and upper lids, but by the end of the work day, the lower line seems to have "dried" and smeared below my eyes. Not attractive! Any application tips or other ideas? thanks!

BE's 'Weather Everything' will keep your eyeliner in place and intact for your entire day (and evening). I mix a drop of this will a drop of water or normal saline, but the directions for use come with the product.

I usually use the liner with a damp brush and it stays on well. I also use Well Rested just below it and blend it in. I also use Well Rested on my upper lid. I think it has a tendency to smear if I have used eye cream so I let the eye cream sink in and blot just a little bit to be sure the Well Rested doesn't look "globbed" on.

Your lower lids are not really a good area for liquid liner, because you might not even notice, but your eyes get moist very easily when you are exposed to wind, sun, dust, basically everything and a powder liner would be much less sensitive to climate change... try a liner shadow and apply it dry!

Do you use an eye primer? If you do, try mixing your liner shadow with a little primer, make a cream liner and see if that helps-it helped me.

I use the small liner brush and barely wet it for a smooth lining. I also have used it with nice results dry. It blends with the powder I use on my lids. I usually don't put eye shadow on as I am in my mid 70s and I prefer just to use Well Rested on my lids.

I personally use the magnetic brush that comes with the eye lining kit. It has three different brush heads and gives you many different looks. I get the most compliments when I apply using the soft focus liner brush head for my daytime look at work. Happy lining!

I recommend the Double Ended Liner Shadow Brush. The one end has the Precision Liner Brush which is larger & easier for beginners. It definitely makes it easy to push liner shadows into the lash line. The other side is the Eye Liner brush. It is a very thin, paint-like brush that is for more experienced users. I feel like applies the liner shadow better wet than the Precision Liner Brush. I hope that helps.

Which product are you talking about Britney? The basic foundation? For that you would use a fuller make-up brush. I use what is called a kabuki brush. Its short. If you order the Intro kit (which I would suggest, its a great deal and it gives you all kinds of tips and directions) some of the brushes are included.

Question
how do you mix the eye liner shadow with prime time?
Recently on TV a local hair salon did a "monday morning makeover" and they always use bare escentuals makeup. When reviewing the makeover the stylist made the comment that she mixed the dry eye liner with prime time instead of water to make it more dramatic as well as last longer. i have tried (with little success) to duplicate this at home. i love bare escentuals (ALL products) and I would like to know the proper way to mix the liner with prime time. Thank you!!

I haven't heard of this but I will try it. I find if I use Prime Time under my makeup and if I perspire when I get home my face looks "peeled" and flaky so I don't use the Prime Time usually. I just barely use a tad of water and not much powder for liner.

I was shown at the store how to do it. Put a little primer on the back of your hand and roll or wipe the brush in it. Then get some of the liner on the brush and tap off the excess and its ready to go on. I have to add a bit more primer between ever swipe, but it doesn't take much.

I learned my tip from my local BE boutique. Add a small amount of the primer in the shadow lid and add the dry liner. Depending on how much you use, you can blend it with your eye liner brush but, at the boutique, they mix it up with a small spatula (like you use with a hot wax). I do this quite often and the eye liner lasts forever this way. Hope this helps.

Question
Patio Party Replacement
I used to buy the patio party liner shadow but I understand it has been discontinued. Is there a replacement or new color that is very close to this one?

I find Tiger's Eye to be pretty comparable; just a smidge lighter.
