Questions & Answers for bareMinerals bareMinerals READY SPF 15 Touch Up Veil - Tinted

Question

How dark is the tinted shade? I'd like a little color to it, but I'm light complected (wear fairly medium sh.) so I don't want to look too bronzed.

I normally wear the matte foundation in the shade fairly medium.

I wear fairly medium as well and this tinted mineral veil is way too dark. The loose version is much better and looks much better on. Go with the loose and not this pressed version.

Do not get the tinted if you are a medium shade. I wear Medium Beige in the minerals and this left my skin looking fake-tan orange. It will leave you looking jaundiced. Go with the translucent. I learned the hard way after applying, taking photos with friends and mortified to look at my skin in the pics.

It looks darker in the compact than it really is. I use a brush to apply it and its a subtle rosey tone. It gives my skin a rosey glow with out over whelming my fair skin.

I would go with the shade that is closer to your skin tone if you're not sure. Stick with translucent. I'm guessing translucent is for fair/medium/med. fair or med. beige. For darker tones like Tan/Dark/Deep, go for Tinted.

Fairly Medium is my shade of preference and I'm light complected with dark hair. I use this every day and it adds warmth but not too much color. I never get a line or anything like that. I find it's a very good shade!

Lyn616,

It does have some good color to it-if you're light (especially in the wintertime) a little goes a long way,

do you tend to use mineral veil? and if so do you tend to use tinted or original? i use medium beige to medium foundation and often use the tinted mineral veil, though have the original as well. i prefer the tinted for touch-ups because it adds just a hint of color to your skin so you don't look washed out by the end of the day!

I have fair skin but wear the medium tan in matte. I also have oily skin. I tan regularly but at a minimum in order to give my skin a little color and to keep from burning when I am out in the sun for long periods of time. I feel the tinted highlights my shade of foundation rather than a bronze look.

I use the medium beige shade of the original bare minerals and I really like it for touch ups. It has a little color but it's not too bronzed.

It comes with a sponge but I threw that out and use a brush. With a brush its easier to control the amount. When I tried using the sponge it went all streaky.

I am not a fan of the applicator that comes with this. I just use the flawless face brush that I use with my foundation though and find that gives great coverage and is easy to use with this formula.

Isela,

It comes with a puff but it's not very good. I use the flawless face brush even when I'm out.

It does come with an applicator and fits inside the compact. I have only used the applicator provided and it seems to work well.

It comes with a small square powder puff. It is perfect for touch ups throughout the day, but if you want to use a brush I'm sure you can.
