Questions & Answers for bareMinerals Deep Cleansing Foam

Question

Difference between the Purifying Facial Cleanser and the Deep Cleansing Foam.

I use the Purifying Facial Cleanser and I love it! But the Deep Cleansing Foam is supposed to be really good at reducing the size of pores and has gotten rave reviews. Is the Deep Cleansing Foam ok for everyday use? Do people use both of them in their regular routine- and if so, how? Do you recommend using both or one over the other?

I use the Deep Cleansing Foam every day. I have the Purifying Facial Cleanser too, but I prefer the Deep Cleansing. I have not had any negative side effects, no drying, etc. from using this every day. On the contrary, my face is blemish free and radiant.

I would recommend alternating them each day. The foam cleanser is very very good, and along with the exfoliator it does reduce the size of pores, at least for me it did.
I wouldn't use the foam cleanser for every wash you do, because it does seem to dry more than the purifying cleanser, for that reason I alternate. Hope this helps!

I have only tried the Deep Cleanser, but I use it twice a day because my skin is acne prone and it is FANTASTIC. I have heard great things about the Purifying Cleanser as well and I heard of a woman who uses the Deep at night and Purifying when she wakes up before putting on make up. I recommend trying JUST the Deep Cleanser and seeing how it reacts with your skin first, and then deciding if you like on over the other, or incorporate both into your beauty routine.

The Purifying Cleanser is good at removing makeup but the Deep Foaming Cleanser removes all the dirt, oil, makeup, and impurities and leaves your skin soft and smooth. It's not harsh at all and a little goes a long way. I highly recommend the Deep Foaming Cleanser. Hope this helps!

I use the deep cleansing foam every day and I love it. The only difference is the purifying cleanser can be used to remove eye makeup - the deep cleansing foam can't. I prefer the foam, but it's no bother to me since I always use an eye makeup remover for my eyes. :)

Hi Kate,
I really like both of the cleansers. I personally use the Purifying in the morning, sometimes in the shower, and the Deep Cleansing Foam at night to remove foundation and the allday stuff. (makes me feel super clean)
Hope this helps.

The cleansing foam can be used everyday-all of the BE cleansers can be used every day twice per day. I use one cleanser in the morning and one at night. I usually use the exfoliating cleanser in the morning in the shower, and use either the deep cleaning foam or the purifying cleanser at night. I like them both but I think I like the foam slightly better because it has a cooling sensation and foams up nicely. I would say try the cleansing foam-your local BE or Sephora will give you a sample. And then decide which you like better/the best. I use all three cleansers.

Skin purging phase?

I started using the Deep Cleansing Foam about 5 days ago and my skin is definitely breaking out. :( One reviewer said that her skin went through a purging phase and I wondered if that was normal?..

Do you use a moisturizer? When cleaning your skin you remove the skins natural oils. there must be a balance. If you deeply cleanse your skin for 5 days with no replacing of the skins natural oils 1. you have cleaned out the pores leaving them vulnerable to break outs 2. your skin will "feel" the lost of it's oils and will produce more oil and sometimes more than it needed it too.

Not sure. I'm combination and extremely acne-prone. I don't believe in purging phases anymore. If I' have to purge, then it's not for me. I've also figure out some of the things my skin loves and hates. And it's not always what folks say is good or bad. Watch ingredients and your technique/consistency. Good luck to you.

Absolutely! Your skin is 2-3 weeks behind, meaning what you were washing with 2 weeks ago is what your skin is reacting too now. Give your skin 2 weeks to get over your old stuff, and then another 2 weeks to really see the resaults of the new stuff!

This is a normal reaction. The same thing happened to me and I went back to the store to ask about it. I was told that it would subside after about a few weeks.

The break outs are partly because your skin has dirt, minerals, etc that the cleanser is pulling out of your skin. Once a majority of these elements are gone the break outs should slow down and/or stop all together. I hope this helps!!!

I think that is is totally normal. It happens to me as well sometimes ... especially after I have a deep cleansing professional facial, my skin can breakout.

If you skin is congested and not use to a thorough deep cleanse, than a few days of breakouts can happen. You need to be consistent with your morning an evening cleansing rituals.

For me, this cleanser has been the best. I hope you stick with it.

I use all 3 cleansers and I would recommend the Deep Cleansing Foam. It cleans very well on oily skin without stripping the skin too far. I learned from an esthetician that sometimes oily skin is caused by removing to much oil. The skin natural needs some oil. When the skin is washed it will produce new new clean oil to have a happy healthy skin. The skin will OVER produce this oil if it feels cleansers removing too much, leaving you with an oily skin problem. BE also has a nice exfoliating cleanser that would be good with oily skin.

I have a very oily t-zone and I use the deep cleansing foam. It takes away all the oily build up in your skin and leaves it beautiful. I follow up with the purely nourishing moisturizer and can use that day and night without getting breakouts in my oily spots. Go to the store and get a sample. I guarantee you will be back to purchase!

You should try the Naturally Luminous Daily Duo for combination skin. Go to BE counter and ask for a sample of these products or maybe the Normal to dry moisturizer. The cleanser is good for all skin type.

I also have Acne prone skin and nothing was really working, so I tried the Deep Cleansing foam on a whim and it has honestly helped my skin out a lot. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and I have noticed an overwhelming improvement in my skin. My face hasn't completely cleared up, but it is better than it has been in years! I'm not sure on the moisturizer, as I have been using one not from Bare Minerals. I have also heard that their Acne Treatment is amazing, but I haven't tried that yet either

I have very acne prone skin. I had flawless skin until I reached my late 20's, now it can break out so easily. I use the purifying facial cleanser first to remove my make-up. Then I follow up with the deep cleansing foam. Make sure you use the foam for the full 30 seconds concentrating on massaging it into your most acne prone areas. I even use it with the clarisonic for more cleansing (although I only do that at night...I skip the clarisonic in the morning). The deep cleansing foam is a little drying on my skin, so I follow it with the purely nourishing moisturizer and my skin looks and feels great...without the acne!

I would definitely recommend the Deep Cleansing Foam. Your skin type sounds very similar to mine. I too was using a different product and it worked "okay" but just never fully cleared up my skin or prevented future breakouts. I too love all the other BE products so I decided to try the skin care line. The rep at my local store suggested the deep cleansing foam due to my acne prone and combo (dry/oily) skin. I cannot tell you how amazing this product is. It is like silk on your skin! My pores have been significantly reduced and I've seen a quick turn around in my acne. My skin hasn't looked this good in years! Give it a try, I don't think you'll be disapointed!

I have the same issue, T-zone, and chin area. I use the exfoliating treatment cleanser and purifying cleanser and it works wonders. I don't hardly ever get a break out any more, and if something does come up it is usually one little bump and I treat them with the blemish therepy and the exfoliating treatment as a mask. I also use the combination skin daily moisturizer. Good Luck!!!

Any of the BE cleansers would work. The purifying is a liquid which I would compare to Biore or Neutrogena liquid cleansers. The foaming is in a tube and is more of a cream that lathers up. The exfoliation powder one is really nice and was the first cleanser. You put a small amt of powder in your palm & add water. Everyone is different, for me, I like the foaming & the original powder one because I get this nice glow, my skin feels so clean. The purifying didn't give me that glow.
The moisturizer, for your skin type, get the combo one which is for oily skin too. It's very light in texture. I've got an oily t-zone and it's fine. If you do break out like you say, I highly recommend blemish therapy. It's an outstanding product, comes with the brush too. There's lots of trial kits & larger ones with skincare on here and those other websites that sell BE. I myself just got a kit with full sizes of foaming cleanser, combo moisturizer, blemish therapy and a mineral veil compact with brush for $60. ($107 value). Mineral veil is a must have if you have oily skin and/or large pores. It's a miracle worker.

I'll make this really easy...because they are COMPLETLEY different.
Exfoiliating Cleanser-powder form that you wet and scrub on face to reveal freshly exfoiliated and so soft skin. Not so great for makeup removal
Purely nourishing cleanser-liquid, removes makeup like you wouldn't believe. Hydrates amazingly.
Deep Cleansing Foam-foam form, gives you that SQUEAKY clean feeling that can not be achieved by ethier of the other cleansers. Seriously, it cleans so very well. Works great for guys!

What the idea behind the cleansers was, is that every woman is different in every way, including what they look for in a cleanser. Some women prefer deep clean (Deep Cleansing Foam and Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser) whereas some crave the moisture and gentility (Purifying Facial Cleanser). Beyond those decisions, humans are really touch-oriented, so people prefer different textures of what goes on their face. If you like exfoliation you'd go for the Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser; if you like to have softer clean feeling it's the Purifying Facial Cleanser; if you want the squeeky clean feeling without the harsher exfoliation it'd be the Deep Cleansing Foam. Hope this helped!!

Any of the cleansers will help with dry skin. The exfoliating helps remove dry skin, the deep cleansing foam helps instanly refresh skin with its non drying formula, and the purifying facial cleanser has a soft lotion texture thats awesome for dry skin, I have uber dry skin and I use the purifying facial cleanser, my skin is not the super soft I want it at but I have seen a vast improvement. I just started using one of the moisturizers to see if thst helps. Hope my answer helped you.

The Purifying Facial Cleanser is your best bet for dry skin. It's really gentle (but does its job as a cleanser). It actually feels like it adds moisture to your skin, and you'll be amazed when you step out of the shower WITHOUT that irritating tightness.
