You always apply your primer after your moisturizer. It should be the last thing to go on your face before you apply your foundation. :-)

I use moisturizer AND primer. I use the moisturizer first since I want that to soak into my skin more and then the primer to help smooth everything over afterward.

Hi, T.

It's to be applied after moisturizing - right before you apply your foundation. But be sure to shake it well. And be careful of splatter when you squirt it onto your fingers - in fact, it's probably best to squirt it into your cupped hand!

If you are using all of the skin cares products by BE this is the order:
Cleanser, Skin Rev-er Upper, Mositurizer, Primer.
I just went into a BE location and asked the same question!

Question

Is this a tinted primer? If so, what color?

I'm looking for a yellow, like my current primer, ColoreScience Line Tamer. Would love to switch to a Bare Escentuals product!

This is a light flesh tone in the bottle. Once it is on your face it is very sheer.

Hi, ld-pearson -

This product comes out of the bottle looking like a nude foundation, but when applied, there is no color - only a sort of iridescence.

Do you have red patches or an overall reddish tone? If you have a way to go to a BE Boutique, big department store like Macy's or Nordstoms, Sephora, or Ulta, do it! We're trained to match your skin tone yet 'cover' blemishes, etc. You won't need a yellow primer.

If you order online, be sure to call them & describe your tone & concerns well. I work at a BE boutique, and there are 20 different shades. It's tough to get the right shade over the phone. But if you switch, you will LOVE it. Your skin will be so much clearer and healthier.

Good luck!

Question

What is the difference between using this brightener and using the original primer with the rarevitamins rever-upper?

This brightening foundation seems like it has the same affect as the oil control foundation primer and the rarevitamins, so how does one choose which to use? Same question applies to the eye lid primers.

I do not like the brightening Prime Time as much as the original which goes on so smoothly with no shaking until it is blended properly. It is much more consistent coming out of the bottle as well. Planning on taking back the Brightening Prime Time and grateful I had an extra bottle of the original Prime Time on hand to use in the meantime. I am a veteran user of these products and this is the first disappointment I have had.

brighting is thiner, Have to shake it before use has a golden tint to the skin, the regular is thicker and no tint, that's really the biggest difference i like the brighting make my complection look way more radiant.

The difference in the primers is what you wish to achieve. Is your skin looking a bit dull this winter? Then the brightening will add the punch and brighten and even your skin tone. If you don't feel you need brightening -- the regular will work just fine. Me -- I can't live without the brightening. My skin is pale, it is winter and at my age -- I'll take it ALL.

The eyelid primers are a different story, the pearl will add clarity and highlight and can be used alone but it is rather stark, the gold is beautiful alone, with a shadow(s); the regular is just that -- great for all, but especially a matte shadow. If you do get creative -- you might even like the slight shimmer with a matte shadow -- the whole effect changes. With the brightening, you can use them under your brow, a touch in the center of your lid. They have a dual purpose. The regular, is the regular -- it evens your lid tone to neutral and holds like a magnet. I just love choices -- don't you?! Get creative -- you will BE addicted!!

Question

Brightening primer or skin rev-er upper?

I want to try both the brightening primer and the rev-er upper, but I am limited to trying one for the moment because of money. Does anybody have a opinion as to which I should try first?

Sam14, the Skin Revver-upper is great unless your skin is dry or sensitive. It makes your cells turn over quickly, so your skin is fresh and new. But it can make dry or sensitive skin feel tight - some people get flaking. I would try the Brightening Prime Time first, because it might do the job you're looking for.

Personally, I would go for the primer. It really brightens your face and leaves you looking awake in the morning (which is esentially what the Rev-er upper does as well). So on a budget I would go for the Primer and get the gorgeous BE look that will last all day long with the primer. (I use both products. That is what I am basing my answer on.)

My answer would be based upon the reason you need the rev-er-upper. The rev-er-upper will not be used on your eyelid, but rather underneath your eye for slight brightening and to help counteract dryness. The brightening primer will be used to highlight your eye and hold your shadow. They have two different uses -- both being a great investment. I use both rev-er-uppers under my BE eye cream and moisturizer. Have all three primers. I would purchase the one you most need first and keep adding. Isn't is GREAT to have choices? Thanks, Leslie!!!

Question

It is very difficult to get the pump to work. I have to take the pump out and wipe it on my palm to use the product. It's annoying. Any suggestions

Shaking does not help. The product comes out for about the 1st week and then nothing. I took one pkg back to the store and exchanged it - I thought it was defective. The next bottle did the same thing. I really enjoy all my BE products - except this one.

I combine the regular primer and the brightening - awesome combination and much easier to pump out. I pump the regular right into the brigtening bottle. When I gets near the end I use a QTip - I don't wanna waste a drop!

I always shake this product side to side first, then rap on counter a time or two. Then pump into a closed palm. It always works for me, but you may have to practice a bit to get it down to a science for yourself. Hope this helps................Marie

Shaking will only help for a short while, however, I have had the same bottle for over 2 months and even though I can't use the pump, I just use my fingers to get a little bit off of the tube then I just apply it to my face.

The Brightening Prime Time is appropriate for all skin types. It isn't 'tinted,' but it has a luminescence that reflects light. It makes all skin look more vibrant.

Yeah the only thing its really doing is brighting the skin complexion its got a golden color to it but that is diminished when applied to the skin, all other benefits are just like the regular primer i think.
