It's empty and you fill it with your foundation powder. Reading the other reviews I don't think I'll get it. I'm better off swirling tapping and buffing my heart out. Sephora has $3 sifters where you can put your makeup in and carry it with you instead of taking the source with you. It would be a lot better I think. I just ordered 6 sifters yesterday. Can't wait to get them. I have a home makeup bag, purse bag, swim bag and also a bag I would take for hotel visits. I would rather lose or misplace a $3 item verus my $26-$28 source jar lol.

It comes empty so you can put what you want in it. It comes with a little spoon to help move the powder. Using a paper funnel works well too and is a little faster.

It comes empty. You're just buying the brush

It comes empty with a little scoop. You just put your make up in a little jar that screws into the base of it.

No, there's no product in the brush. When you get it, it will be empty. Then you can put whatever you want to in it. Even mineral veil.

Mine came full, but beware... it just doesn't work. More frustration than it's worth.

Question

how do you open the makeup with the new lids so that you can refill your brush?

I just purchased this item. I could open the old containers to get the makeup out but I can not open the new containers.

If you flip it over there's a plug on the bottom of the container you can semi-easily pop off with the edge of a dime. Getting the plug back on though is another story. After I thought I had securely popped the plug back on and went to flip my container right-side up, it fell off and all my foundation spilled all over my bathroom counter! I was able to save most of it though. To get the plug securely back on correctly, I had to use a small hammer and tap the edges of the plug back on until I heard 2 loud clicks. The plug should be slightly inside the outter ring of the container, not level with the outter ring, but all edges of the plug should be level to know that you've securely put it back on correctly. It was a nightmare, but I got it back on!

The brush comes off for cleaning/filling your brush so when you activate the powder to fill the brush, be sure to secure the brush so that it doesn't come off. The dial at the bottom of the brush allows you to close it up or buff on your look.

I think that if you look at the bottom of the jar, there is a little dial. You can try using the edge of a dime to twist it open. I hope this is what you meant! :-)

Question

Will you make an option with a smaller brush for eye shadow, please!

Please make an option for use with your eye shadow. I don't like the mess of opening ( and spilling ) the pots of eye shadow. The brushes are great for the face products. Please modify for eyes!!

If you mean a sifter for the concealer and eye shadow, I totally agree. There's sifters for the loose blush powder, veil, warmth all over face color and foundation. But for eye shadow and concealer, which are my favorites as well, there's no sifter. The jar tops are great and I never mess up anything, but still...it would be fantastic if I can seal it off like I can with everything else. Ask a BE rep if they plan on making a sifter for eye colors and concealers!
