The Rev-er Upper can be used either under you moisturizer & makerup or alone. I have chosen to only use it whenever I do not wear makeup. Although, combining it with the Prime Time has a wonder affect when placing the makeup on my skin. I think using them together makes the two products a power team for the skin.

That is what I do, unless I run out of moisturizer. Then I go straight to the Bare Vitamin Skin Rev-er Upper. Don't forget the mineral viel, that should be #4 and 6. Don't go anywhere without it!!!

The way I was taught is:
Step 1: wash face
Step 2: Skin Rev-er Upper (since its a "treatment")
Step 3: Moisturize
Step 4: Primer
Step 5: Foundation
I feel that without the primer my skin doesn't look as smooth or feel as soft.

I had seen that also & have discovered that putting the Rev-er Upper on before the moisturizer makes for a wonderful combination. It is as though you are preping your skin & creating a fresh pallet for your moisturizer & makeup. The nice thing is that you can use this product with or without moisturizer or makeup.

Definitely after your moisturizer. Put on your moisturizer as normal and let it dry before applying foundation. If you were to apply moisturizer after the foundation I would imagine that it would be harder for it to absorb into your skin and would make the foundation blotchy and streaky. Your foundation should always be the last step after you have finished your facial skin routine in the morning.

Skin Rev-er Upper is not a primer so it won't help minimize your pores. I put it in the same category as anything that's used to treat and help improve the quality of your skin.

I have a huge issue with my pores. However, after only a week of using this product I started to see a huge overall difference in my skin. The tone was more even, it was softer, & best of all my pores seemed to be shrinking. Even some scars I had on my face appeared to minimalize.

Absolutely! Prime Time literally makes your skin feel like a baby's. It gives a satin finish that helps the foundation glide on more easily and completely, as well as make it wear longer. I'm 32 with dry, fair skin and I swear by this stuff. It's the closest way you can get to a "magazine" complexion.

Skin Rev-er Upper is a product you use to help improve the overall quality (tone, texture, color) of your skin - it's a beauty treatment.

Prime Time is a primer. Makeup primers are used to help turn your skin into the best "canvas" for makeup application.

Skin Rev-er Upper has vitamins and exfoliating acids in it to try to even out the skin. This product is a skin treatment. The Prime Time is a product than you put on your face as the last step of your morning routine to give your foundation more staying power.

Question

About 2 hours after a Bare Escentuals make-up application at a local salon, you could see all the pores on my face open.

Looking closely in the mirror it was disgusting looking if someone was looking at me that close. The stylist used the Rev-er Upper as the cream under the Foundation and Eye Shadows. What caused this look? Will it happen every time I apply the Bare Escentuals make-up I purchased. If so, I am not a happy customer for the money I have spent on natural prodcuts. Please reply, thank you.

Skin Rev-er Upper decreases the appearance of enlarged pores over time.
However, I found that the brush you use to apply foundation can accentuate pores size and fine lines, so you look about 10 years older with foundation. After I discovered the heavenly foundation brush I had no more issues with having my pores appear enlarged after application of BE foundation or with having foundation set in my fine lines.

I use the primer for oily skin in my t-zone. This helps minimize that shine, and the appearance of pores. I also notice that about an hour after applying the make-up, I have to use the mineral veil once again, and then I am usually good to go for the day!

The stylist's application may have been the issue. Prime Time works best for minimizing your pores. If you use the Skin Rev-er Upper under the foundation, make sure it dries completely before applying anything else over it. That may have been the issue with the stylist at the salon. Prime Time will create a satin-like finish to your skin, making the foundation easier to apply and also more comfortable to wear. You can also try a bit of Mineral Veil as a base before applying the foundation. If your skin is like mine, I recommend the Hydrating Veil.

Question

Is this product supposed to have a strong scent?

The product has a strong chemical odor. Is that because of the ingredients? I have not encountered this before with other Prep products from BE

Mine definitely has a certain smell to it but I wouldn't define it as "strong." I'm assuming it's the salicylic and glycolic acids that are producing the smell you're referring to.

Yes, it's the acids in it... they are very good for your skin, because they act like exfoliators and they summon water to your skin layers, so they are rather common in beauty products, but their smells are usually covered by fragrances. The fact that you can smell them it's an indicator that BE does NOT put in anything more than strictly needed, such as fragrances.

I got one as a free gift when I was ordering every 90 days and had one for years. I used it after at least 5 or 6 years and it was perfect. My skin is very sensitive and if you buy it new you'll still smell a little smell, but old or new it worked perfectly for me.

From seeing Leslie on QVC she said that the "powder" products last indefinitely because there are no chemicals, oils, preservatives, etc. If any makeup or face product has a strange smell to it, it should definitely be thrown away. That is a sign of a product no longer being good to use.

No way. Since this makeup doesn't have a ton of chemicals and preservatives, it's life is much longer. My rule of thumb is if it has a funny texture or seems dryer than a new package, then you should be wary. But, unless I'm wrong, if it looks and goes on just like new, then it's fine!

Question

Parabens?

I was about to buy this product, until I noticed that there are 2 parabens in the ingredient list... It surprised me that BE would use parabens, since the company seems to usually avoid them. I've been trying to limit my use of topical products containing parabens, and usually BE is great about the ingredients, but not this time.
Is BE going to release a version without parabens?
Does anyone know a comparable product without any parabens?

Not sure if this will help or not, but I looked up parabens. There are six types and they are used to help prevent bacteria, yeast and mold.

Question

Is this OK for skin that gets breakouts?

I can use the New combination skin oil free moisture from the new skin care line, and love it, and it works very nicely, but would really like to add this one with it having the exfoliating, skin texture improving ingredients. I used it many years ago but was using the ProActiv Repairing lotion with Benzoyl Peroxide on my skin before I applied this and would also use spot treatment if I did happen to get a break out. I have tried samples from lines saying they were "Oil free" that would cause me to wake with red, hot, sore and tender eruptions and have to treat them. I did try the new dry skin moisture B.E. cream in a kit with cleanser when it first launched and the creme broke me out in the same way. Since I am able to use the combination skin moisture lotion, I was hoping this would be similar to it. But, I would love to get the retexturizing benefits of the glycolics and such. Is this very much like the new combo skin moisture or richer like the creme for drier skin? If not COULD you bring out some items for break out prone skin, so our good job with our make won't be undone with ingredients from skin products? LOVE the neck cream and cleansers, SO nice to have great products to keep us looking younger and finer textured! Please help us take care of these pesky troublesome skin "trolls"! Thank you for loving these products so much and sharing them with all of the women who appreciate each one so very much! : )

It IS hard to get skin back to where it should be. Consistency in using one type of makeup line, BE being the best for me, has really helped me out. I don't get breakouts much, but I DO have sensitive skin which can lead to random breakouts.

Drinking water, sitting in a sauna or dry sauna has helped me out in the past and even now. I haven't been in the sauna in a while, but I do drink water all the time throughout the day or when I feel thirsty I usually grab water first. BE has improved my skin. I've used Cover Girl and it's ok, Smashbox was ridiculously expensive and just wasn't for my skin and I've even used Hard Candy which was a line of makeup that Walmart had and it just didn't match up to the quality of BE.

Exfoliaters are good in the morning first thing. Also...if you're used to wearing makeup everyday, give your skin time to breathe a little bit by having a bare face...no bare minerals, no makeup or anything. BE has improved my skin to where I don't have to use much effort to SBT (swirl buff tap). Keep consistently using the BE products over time to see results.

I hope this helps you out!!
