There's two compartments and two zippers. The top zipper opens up the top half for your brushes and other things. The bottom zipper opens the bottom to store your tap and swirl stuff.

Basiclly there is a lid that closes over the sifter part and how I do it is I open the sifter, close the flip top and close the compact itself, turn it upside down so that the minerals attach to the top of the flip lid, then I just open the compact and open the flip top and swirl the brush on the lid

What is the size difference between the flawless face case and the beauty on the go?

The Flawless Face Case is approximately 0.25 inches taller at 1.25" than the Beauty on the Go at 1". The length (4") and width (2.75") are the same. This little bit of extra height (Flawless case) allows you to tuck a small applicator brush in the back of the box near the mirror. For example, the Blemish Treatment brush fits perfectly. The Beauty case won't close if you try to put the brush there.
