Watery vs. cream?

I received my bottle of Continous renewal serum as the storm of 2010 hit our area.
It was freezing temperatures. To my surprised, when I opened the bottle it was totally a liquid. I suspect a 'serum' might be liquid but it is not pleasant to put on my face and it feels like it is drying my skin. Since I can't return it, do you think the cold weather had anything to do with the contents of the bottle?

the serum, for me, was liquid, too. It's also the most drying ingredient in the kit. I find the vit-a complex works better since it doesnt dry out as much.
